The European Court of Human Rights has published a new factsheet on climate change. The Court has yet to rule on State obligations to prevent climate change. The factsheet contains the three cases on environmental matters currently pending before the Grand Chamber of the Court (Verein Klimaseniorinnen Schweiz and Others v. Switzerland,
Carême v. France and Duarte Agostinho and Others v. Portugal and 32 Other). In the next month, on 29 March 2023, the oral hearing in the Verein Klimaseniorinnen Schweiz and Others and Carême cases will be held, and the oral hearing in the Duarte Agostinho and Others case will follow at a later stage.
